Acceptance and Commitment Therapy leans on six principles to teach us to recognize what life is throwing at us in each moment, to learn to be with and accept those life events, to clarify what is truly important to us and resolve to focus our energy on it. It shatters some deep rooted human belief such as happiness is our default mode but truly equips us to live a fulfilling life while letting go of our illusion of control.

This is a powerful tool to reorganize memory in order to allow troubling experiences such as trauma to get reprocessed and integrated in our memory bank. It weakens triggers and posttraumatic symptoms.
